Biography

The soprano Ekaterina Kudryavtseva was born in St Petersburg (Russia) and studied at the State Conservatory there, after having attended the Lyceum for Musical and Aesthetic Education at the age of 6 as highly talented singer. She graduated in opera and chamber music singing as well as in acting with distinction. Subsequently, she became a doctoral student with Prof. Kira Isotova and has already developed a broad repertoire as a soloist in the ensemble of the conservatory's own opera theatre and in numerous concert performances.

Ekaterina Kudryavseva has won numerous international singing competitions, including the Antonin Dvorak Competition in the Czech Republic and the Saint Petersburg Singing Competition in Russia, where she was awarded the "Hope of Russia" special prize. Since 2010 she has been living in Germany, in addition to numerous guest performances in various European opera houses, she has been a permanent member of the ensemble of the Staatstheater Braunschweig since the season 2010/2011.
